Playing With Googly Eyes (8 Photos)

Eight tiny interventions that make the street look back.
A cookie turns a bin into Cookie Monster, a crack turns concrete into Pac-Man, and a giant evergreen watches back. Most of the smallest transformations come from Bulgarian artist Vanyu Krastev, while a lakeside stump and a bronze deer family prove that almost anything can grow a face.

🍪 Cookie Monster Bin — By an Unknown Creator in an Unknown Location 🌍
Two oversized googly eyes and one cookie turn the bin’s opening into Cookie Monster’s mouth. The existing shape does almost all the work.

👀 Concrete Pac-Man — By Vanyu Krastev in Bulgaria 🇧🇬
One crack becomes a mouth, and one round bollard becomes a hungry street character. Krastev’s Eyebombing Bulgaria project uses the damage already in the object instead of hiding it.

😟 Panic on a Rusty Pole — By Vanyu Krastev in Bulgaria 🇧🇬
A rusted pole already had the right scar and curve for a worried face. Krastev adds two uneven eyes and a small black mouth, and the whole post suddenly looks as if it has seen something coming.

🌿 Mossy Face — By Vanyu Krastev in Bulgaria 🇧🇬
A moss-covered formation already had a brow, nose and hunched posture. Two plastic eyes complete the creature without covering the textures that made it visible in the first place.

🙂 The Happiest Boarded-Up Window — By Vanyu Krastev in Bulgaria 🇧🇬
Two tiny eyes and a curved smile make a sealed, weathered window look delighted rather than forgotten. The intervention is small enough that the architecture remains the main character.
💡 Artist Advice: Krastev’s own rule is simple: “don’t stick eyes wherever there are ones already.” The object needs to offer the face first. Read more from Vanyu Krastev.

🌊 Lakeside Tree-Stump Creature — By an Unknown Creator in an Unknown Location 🌍
A weathered stump beside the water gets two oversized eyes. Its twisted roots become limbs, making the creature look as if it has crawled out of the lake.

🌲 Giant Tree Monster — By an Unknown Creator in an Unknown Location 🌍
Two oversized inflatable eyes turn the upper branches of an evergreen into a towering creature. The scale changes everything: this time the whole tree becomes the face.
