Ocean art from the shoreline to the street

A bunker rises from the waves with a painted face. A shark swims across an entire building, a character peeks over the edge of a beach, and a fishing boat battles a storm on a wall. These ten photos bring the ocean into public art through real water, painted waves and the people whose lives are tied to the sea.

🦈 Au temps des mégalodons — By SEYB in Savigné-sur-Lathan, France 🇫🇷

SEYB sends a shark straight toward the street, beneath shafts of painted underwater light. The building-sized scene is “Au temps des mégalodons,” a mural in Savigné-sur-Lathan.

💡 Megalodon Fact: Smithsonian Ocean dates megalodon to roughly 23 to 3.6 million years ago and says it grew up to about three times the length of a modern great white shark.
