🌹 Rose and Peony — By BUBLEGUM in Elk Grove, California, USA 🇺🇸

A deep-pink rose, a pale peony and gray filigree cover the School of Rock facade. Real shutters, windows and pale columns divide the mural into panels.

💡 Nerd Fact: On his official site, BUBLEGUM describes his “Ornamental Style” as a blend of nature and intricate filigree inspired by Baroque architecture. The City of Elk Grove identifies him as the artist at the School of Rock, 9045 Elk Grove Boulevard, for Paint the Grove, the city’s inaugural mural festival.

🐦 Singing Bird and Tulips — By MIKA Husser in Bergerac, France 🇫🇷

A giant orange-breasted bird opens its beak beside pink tulips and a small birdhouse. The orange wall matches the bird’s chest, while a service door and upper window sit inside the mural.

A Street Art Pedia post credits MIKA Husser and places the mural in Bergerac. The post does not include an official artwork title, street address or completion date.

🎗️ “The Ribbon Gymnast” — By OAKOAK in Saint-Quentin, France 🇫🇷

A small black gymnast lifts one leg and reaches through circles of real razor wire. From this angle, the wire looks like the ribbon in a rhythmic-gymnastics routine.

In an April 5, 2025 post, OAKOAK titles the piece “The ribbon gymnast” and adds: “More ribbons, less barbed wire.” The street plaque visible in the photograph says Rue du Docteur Cordier, and an official City of Saint-Quentin address listing confirms that the street is in Saint-Quentin.

💡 Nerd Fact: Under international apparatus rules, a senior rhythmic-gymnastics ribbon must be at least six metres long, 40–60 millimetres wide and weigh at least 35 grams without the cane.

🌌 Darth Vader for “Stop Wars” — By SeRie Tijuana (Eduardo Gómez) in Tijuana, Mexico 🇲🇽

Darth Vader fills the wall in deep red and electric blue. TIE fighters hover above him, a skull medallion hangs from a painted chain at the base, and real utility cables cut across the night-sky scene.

In his post about the mural, SeRie calls it one of two pieces he made for “Stop Wars: Una galería al alcance de todos.” La Jornada identifies SeRie as Tijuana artist Eduardo Gómez, also known as Chile Rage, and reports that he leads the open-air project along Boulevard Casa Blanca. A Street Art Pedia photo post places this wall at Blvd. Casa Blanca 82A, Los Lobos.

💡 Nerd Fact: “Stop Wars” grew from murals begun along this boulevard about six years earlier. For this phase, Gómez assembled roughly ten artists and gave them one shared brief: combine Star Wars characters with Mexican elements to reflect Tijuana’s binational identity, according to La Jornada.

🌿 Ivy-Haired Girl — By Vinie Graffiti in Toulouse, France 🇫🇷

Vinie paints a large green-eyed figure resting her face in one hand, with thick ivy hanging over the wall as her hair. A small orange bird looks out from a nest above.

The mural was painted at the former Caserne Jacques Vion for Expo Mister Freeze’s “Ça Déborde” edition. Toulouse Métropole confirms the venue and dates.

💡 Nerd Fact: This wall belongs to a former fire station whose architecture is protected in its own right. France’s Ministry of Culture calls Caserne Vion a major work by Pierre Debeaux; its original training centre included a gymnasium, swimming pool and diving pit, and parts of the complex were listed as a Historic Monument in 2023.

🪴 “Gardeners” — By Rocket01 in Valence, France 🇫🇷

An astronaut uses a hand trowel to pot a seedling among terracotta pots. A robin sits on the astronaut’s shoulder, red flowers rise behind the figure, and a cratered green moon covers the gable.

An opening in the wall cuts into the moon, while a small green UFO hovers nearby. Rocket01 created “Gardeners” in central Valence for Street Art Fest Grenoble-Alpes. The festival programme lists the site as 2 Place Charles Huguenel; the mapped wall is at the corner near Rue Madier de Montjau.

💡 Nerd Fact: Orbital gardening is real, but astronauts do not use ordinary pots. NASA’s VEG-03 system places seeds in fabric “pillows” filled with a clay-based growing medium and controlled-release fertilizer; the clay distributes water and air around the roots in microgravity.

🕊️ “INVOLUCIÓN” — By Alberto León in Barcelona, Spain 🇪🇸

A life-size paste-up shows a riot officer raising a baton as a pigeon flies into the open space beside him. In Gisleider Andrés’s photograph, a man stands at the wall’s edge reading a red copy of Marjane Satrapi’s Persepolis.

“Involución” can mean a halt or reversal of progress. In his post about the work, León tags it as artivism and freedom of expression. It can be found at Carrer de les Basses de Sant Pere 22.

💡 Nerd Fact: The copy of Persepolis in the photograph has its own censorship history. The American Library Association ranked Satrapi’s memoir second on its 2014 list of most frequently challenged books; reported objections included its political viewpoint and graphic depictions.

🌅 “Ocaso” — By Moi Martos with Laura Barrera in Cárchel, Spain 🇪🇸

A giant heron painted in blue stretches across the village gable, surrounded by violet, pink and orange clouds. A round yellow sun sits behind its head, while a real streetlamp and several cables cross the painted bird.

“Ocaso” means sunset or dusk. The mural was created at Calle Párroco Casado 14 for the 11th edition of Abierto por Arte, with artist Laura Barrera credited as a collaborator.

💡 Nerd Fact: A heron’s third toe has a serrated edge used to comb its plumage during preening.

🌸 “Time to Flower Is Now” — By Tamara Alves in Vienna, Austria 🇦🇹

A woman holds a cluster of pale wildflowers against her chest. The real apartment windows run through her hair, forehead, face, body and bouquet instead of being painted around.

Calle Libre says the mural reflects on equality through bodily dignity and autonomy. The festival’s description presents the wildflowers as fragile but persistent life growing despite the structures around them.

💡 Nerd Fact: Alves used a closely related title for an earlier wall in Mérida, Spain. The Time to Flower Is Now was created around UN Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality.

🎒 “You Are Not Alone” — By Giuseppe Amed in Bushwick, Brooklyn, New York City, USA 🇺🇸

A young woman looks across the street with a backpack over one shoulder. A small New York brownstone and rooftop water tank appear inside the pack, while a dark pigeon flies above her cap.

In his original post, Giuseppe Amed says the woman carries her New York experience in her backpack. He calls the pigeon an unofficial mascot of the city’s streets.

💡 Nerd Fact: Pigeons and doves feed their chicks “crop milk.” Both males and females produce this nutrient-rich substance in the crop, a section of the lower esophagus, and regurgitate it to their young.

Street Art Cities records the mural at 225 Starr Street. It was created with The Bushwick Collective for its 15th-anniversary edition.
