Goldfish slip through windows, a swimmer meets seahorses, and a coral-crowned guardian watches from a Florida wall. These 12 artworks turn concrete into coral, deep water, and impossible aquariums—without asking the architecture to stay dry.

🤿 “Clear Water Wonders” — By Naomi Haverland in Clearwater, Florida, USA 🇺🇸

A swimmer in red goggles holds the center while orange seahorses drift through turquoise water. The low park wall becomes a clear window into a reef, and the real grass line makes the painted water feel almost level with the viewer.

💡 Nerd Fact: Clearwater’s public-art map identifies the 2024 work as roughly 20 by 10 feet at Coachman Park, 300 Cleveland Street, near the Main Library and facing the Gulf. It was one of the first three paintings installed in the park.

🐠 “Hors cadre” — By SWEO & Nikita in Le Mans, France 🇫🇷

An orange goldfish appears to swim through turquoise blocks that cut across real windows and balconies. White ribbons, deep shadows, and the building’s own corners make the facade read like a floating aquarium instead of a flat apartment wall.

💡 Nerd Fact: Plein Champ records the 2026 mural at 7 allée Schubert and says its themes were shaped with about twenty residents: trompe-l’œil, bright color, celebration, and a welcoming entrance to the neighborhood.

🦢 “Swan Lake” — By Nikolaj Arndt in Yerevan, Armenia 🇦🇲

Two white swans rise from a painted pond, one spreading its wings toward the viewer. Arndt’s own archive confirms the title “Swan Lake,” and Armenian Public Radio places the work beside the Opera and Ballet Theatre in Yerevan. From the right viewpoint, the flat pavement becomes a reflective pool.

🐙 Underwater Portrait — By JEKS ONE at Butterfield & Vallis in Pembroke, Bermuda 🇧🇲

A red-haired woman fills the wall as dark octopus tentacles curl through blue water around her. JEKS ONE keeps the portrait calm while the surrounding sea life turns the facade into a suspended underwater encounter. Painted for Bermuda Walls.

🌊 “Tocando fondo” — By Decimart in Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz, Spain 🇪🇸

A young woman’s face appears beneath deep blue water while goldfish and other sea creatures pass around her. The confirmed Spanish title, “Tocando fondo,” means “hitting rock bottom,” giving the calm aquatic composition a darker undertow. The 2025 work was documented in Jerez de la Frontera in connection with Spain’s Liga Nacional de Graffiti.

🔱 “Guardian of Gulfport” — By Derek Donnelly in Gulfport, Florida, USA 🇺🇸

Coral crowns the long-bearded sea god as fish, sharks, and seaweed surround him in green water. Local coverage confirms that Donnelly painted the 2025 mural after Hurricanes Helene and Milton as a symbol of hope and resilience for Gulfport and other coastal communities.

👵 “El vínculo que nos une” — By Nacho Basave Cavanna in Estepona, Spain 🇪🇸

A grandmother and granddaughter reach toward a floating fish as line-drawn blue fish weave around real windows. Basave designed the pair as a link between Estepona’s past and future generations, with the fish carrying a message about marine life and the responsibility to protect it.

💡 Nerd Fact: Estepona’s city council confirms that the 2024 mural won first prize in the city’s III International Mural Competition. It is painted on the back of the Acuarius building on Calle José Luis Díez.
