Street art for dog people

Jimmy the kelpie is as tall as the grain silos he’s painted on. In Antwerp, a marble dog sleeps next to his boy under a blanket of cobblestones. The nine dogs below are working, waiting, napping or barking, and they’re all good dogs.

A golden dog stretches along a wall on Via Generale Antonio Cantore in Torre, chin on the pavement, and the man beside it only reaches its ear. Masieri lists the work as Ettore on his site Gli animali giganti; passers-by quickly renamed it “E’(t)Tore”.

💡 Dog Fact: It was the first mural in the neighborhood’s AnimaLeVie series, inaugurated on July 18, 2020. Masieri told Il Friuli he picked a dog so the design would speak to everyone.
