A concrete corner becomes a place to nap. These six works of street art and sculpture give cats the run of the neighborhood, from a tiny lookout on a wall to a whole column of restless climbers.

😴 Gatito durmiendo — By WA in Lima, Peru 🇵🇪

WA painted this sleeping kitten across a concrete corner in Mirones, Lima. Its pink paws face the street while its tail curls onto the adjoining surface. The person standing nearby makes the cat’s unlikely size even better.

🐈 Cats and a Lamp Post — By WOSKerski in Larne, Northern Ireland, UK 🇬🇧

One cat watches while the other reaches up to the real streetlight. WOSKerski made the pole part of his mural at a Larne paint jam organized by Seedhead Arts. At this scale, ordinary street furniture starts to look like a cat toy.

Climbing, stretching and crowding one another, these cats have claimed an entire column. Siegfried Neuenhausen’s Katzenstele is a bronze-and-sandstone sculpture from 1981 at Kattreppeln in Braunschweig. Every ledge seems to have a cat making itself at home.
