🐘 An Elephant Under the Window — By Falko One in Garies, South Africa 🇿🇦

A child sitting in the open window appears to have climbed onto a colorful elephant. Falko One painted this mural in Garies in 2015, curling its trunk up beside the wooden door. The window supplies the rider and the doorway gives the trunk a place to reach.

🌊 “Everyone Is an Artist” — By Pejac in Kawasaki, Japan 🇯🇵

A cleaner tips a bucket beside a closed shutter, and a blue-and-white wave rolls out at her feet. Pejac folds the shape of Hokusai’s famous wave into an everyday chore.

💡 Nerd Fact: Pejac’s own revisit dates his mural to 2015 in Kawasaki. Its Hokusai reference, Under the Wave off Kanagawa, is a woodblock print—not a painting—made around 1830–32 for the series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji.

🐙 “Octopus” — By Moxaico in L’Ametlla de Mar, Spain 🇪🇸

Golden arms curl across a deep blue wall, with rows of suckers catching the painted light. Moxaico made Octopus for Festival EFÍMURS in 2024 at 14 Avinguda Part de Cala in L’Ametlla de Mar. His design connects the animal to childhood memories and the Mediterranean, setting its warm metallic tones against the blue of the sea at sunset.

💡 Nerd Fact: In his own artwork entry, Moxaico explains that the circular borders refer to ships’ portholes. Their ornament combines repeated sailors’ knots, abstract waves and lettering about his experience at the festival.

👀 A Face Beneath the Diagonal — By Fumo Miles in Talavera de la Reina, Spain 🇪🇸

Purple hair meets the sloping edge of the wall, while turquoise eyes look out above tattooed fingers. Fumo Miles painted the portrait for A Todo Color in Talavera de la Reina. Organizer Asociación Max Color dates the festival’s tenth edition to 25 April 2026 and reports that it raised funds for childhood cancer research.

🎈 Looking Up — By Máisel López in Havana, Cuba 🇨🇺

A child looks up at a balloon containing an atom-like symbol. Máisel López painted this three-by-four-meter mural in 2024 at the Amiguitos del Átomo nursery in Playa, Havana. It belongs to Los Colosos, the series he began in 2015 to give children a prominent place in the city. López explains that he combines acrylic and oil paints for durability.

🌼 Hansel on a Swing — By Giuseppe Caruso in Petilia Policastro, Italy 🇮🇹

A painted child swings from a black branch on the yellow corner of a house. Giuseppe Caruso identifies him as Hansel, the brother of Gretel from the fairy tale. The mural is part of the artist’s work in Vico Leone, where he and his wife began turning neglected spaces into places for art and reading during the pandemic. 🤍 “IL VOLO DI CICCA” — By Antonio Zappia in Sant’Agata del Bianco, Italy 🇮🇹
