🧘 Yoda’s Meditation — By David Reichelt in Prague, Czech Republic 🇨🇿

Yoda floats cross-legged in a painted forest, his robe hanging loosely beneath him. David Reichelt gives the small Jedi an entire wall of stillness, with the real railings and pavement framing the scene.

💡 Nerd Fact: Yoda’s original puppet face has a connection to Albert Einstein. Creature designer Stuart Freeborn said he gave the character Einstein’s eyes to convey intelligence while developing the design in 1978.

💤 Hannah’s Nap — By David Zinn

Hannah has found a bed in a missing brick. David Zinn adds a pillow and a tiny curled-up sleeper to the opening, making a rough patch of wall look surprisingly comfortable. The whole scene fits into a space most people would walk past.

💡 Nerd Fact: Zinn’s first commercial illustration began as monster doodles on his copy of Gilbert and Sullivan’s Ruddigore. A fellow performer spotted the drawings and asked to use them for the production’s poster.

😊 Chin in Hands — By NADA in Cruz Santa, Tenerife, Spain 🇪🇸

A smiling child rests their chin in both hands above the wall. NADA painted the portrait for SeisDeDoce in Los Realejos, with curation by Kob Tropikal. On Calle Mencey Bentor in Cruz Santa, it gives the street a face that looks happy to watch the day go by.

With her eyes closed and her face lifted, this woman seems to have stepped away from the noise around her. WOSKerski painted the portrait for Southend City Jam, using a white circle and sharp rays to frame the soft light on her face.

🛏️ Border — By Murat Gök in Mardin, Turkey 🇹🇷

Murat Gök turns a section of border fence into a hammock in this 2010 performance photograph. The Institute for Public Art documents the action in Mardin on the Turkey–Syria border. The relaxed pose sits uneasily beside the fence: this pause was brief.

💡 Nerd Fact: The hammock was not a permanent public amenity. The Institute for Public Art describes the intervention as unsanctioned and says the location’s potential danger limited its duration. Most audiences encounter the work through its photographic record.
