For anyone who’s still a kid
A dinosaur doodle fills a building. Tree trunks become colored pencils. A raccoon holds a pinwheel, and a keepsake box grows to the size of a wall. Even a bus shelter has a dance floor. These 14 artworks return to a familiar pleasure: drawing, playing and making something up just because you can.

🎐 Alice’s Pinwheel — By David Zinn
Alice peeks up from the pavement with a tiny pinwheel held above her head. One paw rests at the edge of the square opening as she looks toward the street.

✏️ Color Pencils — By Johanna Vinha (Jonna Pohjalainen)
A pile of logs becomes a set of colored pencils, with bark still wrapped around each oversized point. Most of the wood is left untouched; a sharpened end and a little color are enough to bring a pencil case to mind.

🌈 Sluggo and the Leprechaun — By David Zinn
A rainbow lands in a pot beside a small leprechaun. Farther along the pavement, Sluggo hides behind a real lamppost, with a trail of gold coins between them. David Zinn spreads this little fairy-tale caper across several ordinary sidewalk slabs.

💃 Bus Stop Dancers — By Banksy in Great Yarmouth, England 🇬🇧
A couple dances on the roof of a real bus shelter while an accordion player sits on the edge. Banksy painted the scene on Admiralty Road in Great Yarmouth as part of his 2021 Great British Spraycation, confirmed through his own reveal video. A cane and handbag make perfectly good dance accessories.

😴 Astrid’s Sidewalk Hammock — By David Zinn
Two sidewalk weeds become the supports for Astrid’s hammock. David Zinn completes their lower stems in chalk and curls a small dragon between them. In his original post, Astrid is making herself comfortable as the summer days drag on.

🐕 Childhood, the Best Part of Life — By Wuper Kec in Bijeljina, Bosnia and Herzegovina 🇧🇦
A child rests their bare feet in a blue wash basin while a dog sits beside them. Wuper Kec painted this scene in Bijeljina for Meraki Mural Fest. The scale is huge, but the moment could fit into a quiet afternoon in a backyard.

🎲 El Luche — By Maxi Zamora in Valparaíso, Chile 🇨🇱
Two girls play hopscotch across the risers of a steep outdoor staircase. Maxi Zamora painted El Luche in Pasaje Gálvez as a tribute to the street games of Chilean childhood. The numbered squares run straight toward your feet.

🟡 L’ÉGO ART — By Le CyKlop
The bollards already had the right shape. Le CyKlop added yellow heads, paint drips and expressive faces, turning them into something from a toy box. His L’ÉGO ART series draws on LEGO minifigures, giving an ordinary walk a whole cast of characters.
💡 Nerd Fact: The LEGO minifigure’s 1975 predecessor had a blank yellow head and no movable arms or legs. The version with gripping hands and moving limbs arrived in 1978.

🦖 Childhood Dream — By NEXER in Limeil-Brévannes, France 🇫🇷
A child in denim overalls reaches up to finish a green dinosaur. NEXER painted Childhood Dream on an 18-by-14-meter wall with help from Slarz Fiverz. Completed in July 2022, the mural stands above the Pomme de Reinette nursery on Place d’Aquitaine. This drawing gets the whole building to itself.

🦁 Hetta the Hand-Puppet Lion — By David Zinn
Hetta the hand-puppet lion pops out of a dark square drawn between the bricks. David Zinn gives her a wide grin and a very small patch of pavement. In his original caption, he warns that she has a taste for ankles.

🐻 Bearly Different — By TakerOne in Kajaani, Finland 🇫🇮
A teddy bear opens its mouth beside a roaring brown bear. In Bearly Different, the toy copies its wild neighbor’s pose. TakerOne painted the roughly 12-by-11-meter wall freehand with spray paint. A person at the bottom right shows just how big it is—even the teddy is enormous.
💡 Nerd Fact: TakerOne describes the fur as the mural’s biggest technical challenge. It contains thousands of individually painted hairs, which he built up to give the bears a convincing sense of depth and softness.

🕷️ Spider-Man’s Web Joke — By JPS
Spider-Man clings to the edge of a real doorway, one hand reaching toward a painted brush. Beside him, red lettering reads: “I bet this ends up on the web.” JPS gives the superhero a joke to go with the pose. The stencil is featured in Weston-super-Mare’s official guide to its street art.

🧰 Treasure Box — By Shozy and Aste in Almetyevsk, Russia 🇷🇺
A toy car, collected stones and a wooden pendant made by his brother are among Shozy’s keepsakes in Treasure Box. Painted with Aste, the mural scales this personal collection up to fill a building. The project grew from his memories of collecting little treasures as a child.

🎮 Yoshi’s Wall Ride — By Pappas Pärlor
A line of missing plaster becomes a jump for a tiny Yoshi on a motorbike. Pappas Pärlor places the bead character above the exposed bricks, letting the damaged wall supply the track. A little corner of a racing game has escaped its screen.
💡 Nerd Fact: Pappas Pärlor returned to art by making bead pictures with his children. In a 2018 interview, he said he chose the activity partly to challenge gender stereotypes; before that, he had run a video-game store and a skate shop.

I thought it was an actual kid
That… Looks suspiciously like AI to me. Any images of it being made?
It isn’t AI. TakerOne identifies Bearly Different as a freehand spray-paint mural, about 12 × 11 metres, and the festival posted a reel showing him at work: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DanZuz2Nvia/
Love Yoshi
