🧱 Lego-Brücke — By MEGX in Wuppertal, Germany 🇩🇪

Rows of red, yellow and blue toy bricks seem to hold up a real bridge. MEGX painted the beams and their undersides over Schwesterstraße in Wuppertal, including the hollow circles underneath LEGO pieces.

💡 Nerd Fact: According to MEGX’s project account, the painted surface covers about 250 square meters, and the work took four weeks.

🐿️ Nathan Takes It Easy — By David Zinn

Nathan leans back against a wooden stair riser, his tail stretched across the step below.

💡 Nerd Fact: Zinn began drawing outside as a break from commercial illustration work at his computer. In his essay Why Chalk?, he explains that his rule for leaving the desk on sunny days was to keep drawing outdoors.

🎧 Music Lady — By Otom in Nice, France 🇫🇷

Eyes closed, an older woman holds her headphones to her ears. Otom’s Music Lady covers a shipping container at Le 109, 89 route de Turin, Nice. Her orange scarf fills the bottom of the portrait.

💡 Nerd Fact: Le 109 occupies Nice’s former municipal slaughterhouses. The site’s conversion into a cultural center began in 2009 and included turning the Grande Halle into an events venue and Frigo 16 into a concert space.

🏠 Dans ma maison — By Seth in Laon, France 🇫🇷

A child kneels on the blue end wall of an apartment building, drawing a red line with a spray can. Seth painted the mural in 2022 on Rue des Filles in Laon’s Champagne neighborhood. A roof, chimney and small cloud complete the scene, which later inspired his Dans ma maison lithograph.

💡 Nerd Fact: The Dans ma maison edition consists of 150 lithographs printed at Idem in Paris. Seth spray-painted each house by hand, so its outline differs from one print to the next.

🎻 Constância Is a Girl Who Owns Her Destiny — By FATE in Constância, Portugal 🇵🇹

A girl carries a violin and teddy bear while an open book floats beside her. Ricardo Diogo, known as FATE, painted her at Constância’s secondary school. In his description of the mural, he calls her Constância: a girl who loves music and reading, and wants to write her own story. The painted letters spell FATE.

🐈 Cat Walk — By Seth in Shanghai, China 🇨🇳

A girl rests her head on folded arms while a painted black cat reaches for the pink bow at the end of her ponytail. Below the mural, a real white cat stands in the alley. Seth painted Cat Walk as part of his Shanghai project, which brought more than twenty paintings to old neighborhoods awaiting demolition.

💡 Nerd Fact: Seth’s project notes date the Shanghai series to February and March 2018. Its subjects drew on children’s street games from the 1970s and 1980s.

🐝 The Urban Bees — By Oakoak in Saint-Étienne, France 🇫🇷

Six bees gather around a patch of exposed wire mesh in Oakoak’s The Urban Bees, shared in December 2020. Its hexagonal cells look like honeycomb, with the broken plaster left visible around the edges.

💡 Nerd Fact: In 1999, mathematician Thomas C. Hales proved the honeycomb conjecture: a regular hexagonal grid divides a plane into cells of equal area with the least total boundary length.

🐻‍❄️ Global Warming — By Tom Bob in Miami, USA 🇺🇸

An uneven piece of pavement becomes a broken sheet of ice, with a polar bear on a red pool float. Tom Bob adds sunglasses and black shorts, turning the cracks into part of the scene.

💡 Nerd Fact: Polar bears are classified as marine mammals. They rely heavily on sea ice and feed mainly on seals, particularly ringed seals.
