Molotow’s profile of WEK, also known as SprayLover, describes his Lisbon work as black-and-white, high-contrast, and filled with varied patterns.

📦 Home Sweet Home — By Nego in Torrellas, Zaragoza, Spain, 2017 🇪🇸

Nego turned the house into a giant cardboard box with a torn opening across its wall. A ginger cat pushes its face and paw through the gap, making the whole building feel like packaging for one enormous pet. The artist’s own record identifies it as the second-prize entry in the 2017 II Concurso Arte en la Calle de Torrellas, while Heraldo de Aragón confirms the title Home Sweet Home.

🐈 Sphynx Cat Mural — By Braga Last One in Les Pennes-Mirabeau, France, 2020 🇫🇷

Painted during France’s COVID-19 lockdown in April 2020, the anamorphic Sphynx wraps around a cylindrical tank and resolves from one carefully chosen viewpoint. Braga’s original post gives the coordinates for the site in Les Pennes-Mirabeau, while mural documentation notes that the tank stands beside a private road used by cement trucks. In an artist interview, he said the model was his girlfriend’s cat and that the mural took about two and a half days.

👁️ Giant Cat Mural — By LexusOne in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, 2021 🇷🇺

The green-eyed cat fills a windowless gable, turning the building itself into a face. The mural appears in LexusOne’s official portfolio, while Nizhegorodskaya Pravda identifies it as his 2021 addition to the Gorod — skazka mural project at 99 Ulitsa Kultury.

💡 Nerd Fact: The building was already part of the same mural project: the regional news agency NIANN reported that its opposite side had been painted in 2013. The cat was added when Gorod — skazka returned in 2021 after an eight-year pause, with the stated aim of developing Nizhny Novgorod artists.

🐾 Escaping Kitten Mural — By Mr Meana at SimplyCats Vet Clinic in Fencehouses, Houghton-le-Spring, England 🇬🇧

SimplyCats Vet Clinic announced plans for a mural on its end wall in 2020, and Mr Meana posted this finished piece on October 25, 2021. The kitten wraps around the brick end of the practice at 12 Front Street, Fencehouses, the address listed by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons directory. The artist says he completed the spray-paint mural in one day despite wind and rain, placing the paws and face at different heights so the brickwork helps establish the scale.

💡 Nerd Fact: SimplyCats is a feline-only practice rather than a general veterinary clinic. The clinic says it opened in 2009 as North East England’s first feline-exclusive veterinary clinic and later achieved the International Society of Feline Medicine’s highest Gold Cat Friendly Clinic standard.
