Their work is really beautiful and artistic, but I feel like it might be harming the trees—especially when it seems like they’re drilling into the trunk. If I’m wrong about that, please correct me
Nothing in the photo or published information shows drilling. For related tree-based works, Foreman says he used river mud or clay to attach leaves and sticks. I could not find a process note for Folia Quadrata itself, so the exact method is unconfirmed.
