Mel Waters’s official site identifies this as Untitled Mural, completed in 2026 at Piedmont Street and Masonic Avenue. In his post about the work, Waters says it was painted in acrylic on stucco. The real window frames divide the dove’s body and outstretched wings, but the bird still reads as one image.

💛 Marge Simpson on a Fire-Damaged House — By Shipao in Arkhangelsk, Russia 🇷🇺
At 6 Kotlasskaya Street, Shipao uses the building’s blackened opening as Marge Simpson’s towering hair. The building archive lists the wooden apartment house as vacated in July 2023 and damaged by fire that August. A curl of white smoke rises from the opening beside Marge’s raised hand.

🐈 The Cat Prisoner — By David Zinn in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA 🇺🇸
Zinn’s official archive calls this scene The Cat Prisoner. It was originally drawn in chalk and charcoal on the pavement around a coffee-shop fence in downtown Ann Arbor. The real fence bars make the orange cat look trapped. An eye-rolling mouse waits beside the post.

🪞 Mirror Lake Sign — Creator Unknown near Waycross, Georgia, USA 🇺🇸
At Mirror Lake in Okefenokee Swamp Park, the upside-down sign becomes readable in the blackwater reflection. Archival footage catalogued as 1968 shows the same visual trick already in place at the park. The sign’s maker and the photographer of this widely shared image remain unconfirmed.
💡 Nerd Fact: The Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge was inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 2026. UNESCO identifies the swamp as the world’s largest lowland freshwater peatland in the subtropical zone.

🎈 Wall-Light Balloon — By Pappas Pärlor (Location Unconfirmed)
Johan Karlgren, better known as Pappas Pärlor, uses a round wall light as a hot-air balloon. A fuse-bead Mario rides in the tiny basket, with a pixel cloud nearby. Östergötland Museum says Karlgren took his beadwork out of the studio and onto the streets of his hometown, Motala. This photograph’s location and official title remain unconfirmed.
💡 Nerd Fact: In a 2024 interview with Swedish public broadcaster SVT, Karlgren said he discovered fuse beads while crafting with his children as a way of showing them they did not have to be confined by gender roles.

🐯 Tiger Bites a Tree — By Koka Engel in Mexico City, Mexico 🇲🇽
Koka Engel painted the tiger around a real tree trunk, placing it between the animal’s teeth.
💡 Nerd Fact: In a 2023 interview published by UNAM, Koka explained that a bus driver began calling him “Coca” because he got off near the Coca-Cola factory by Metro Constitución. He changed the C to K to separate the name from the brand.

📮 Mailbox Monster — By Damon Belanger in Redwood City, California, USA 🇺🇸
At the downtown post office on Jefferson Avenue, Damon Belanger painted a charcoal-gray monster shadow extending from a blue mailbox. Mailbox Monster was photographed there in May 2016. Redwood City’s project page says the wider Sidewalk & Shadow Art Project consists of 20 stencils.
