10. 🧠 “Lost My Brain” — By an Unknown Creator in an Unknown Location 🌍

Why it ranks: A fake lost-and-found poster uses an anatomical brain drawing and the line “Please don’t contact me, I’m happy.” The tear-off tabs make the absurd request look almost official. Margarete Elmenhorst photographed the flyer on March 7, 2011, but its creator and location remain unidentified.

Why it ranks: Oakoak turns a flexible wall vent into an elephant’s trunk, then adds the tiny warning that completes the animal. The artist posted the intervention in February 2018 with the bilingual caption “Do not feed the elephant” and “Ne nourrissez pas l’éléphant.” The post confirms the work but does not identify its location.

8. 🇺🇸 “All Americans Must Be Accompanied by an Adult” — At Goswell Road Coffee in London, England 🇬🇧

Why it ranks: The chalkboard was photographed outside Goswell Road Coffee in Clerkenwell following the 2016 U.S. presidential election. The Standard reported that the café put up the sign and described its messages as jokes rather than political statements.

💡 Nerd Fact: The wording happens to echo the United Kingdom’s 12A cinema rule. Under the British Board of Film Classification system, viewers under 12 may attend a 12A screening only with an adult, while no one under 12 may rent or buy a 12-rated video.

7. 🧽 “Show biz ruined me” — By Pao in Rome, Italy 🇮🇹

Why it ranks: Pao’s official archive confirms that Show biz ruined me was painted on an electric cabinet in Rome in 2012. The worried face and cardboard sign turn cartoon fame into one very tired street-level punchline.

💡 Nerd Fact: Before beginning his street interventions in 2000, Pao worked as a stagehand, recordist and stage technician with Dario Fo and Franca Rame and studied and worked at Milan’s La Scala theatre, according to his official biography. Dario Fo received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1997.

6. 🦈 Great Wheat Sharks — By Anne Melady near Dublin, Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦

Why it ranks: Anne Melady drew the four fins on a quarter-inch sheet of plywood for this 2021 installation outside Dublin. Farmtario reported that neighbors helped cut the fins and fitted them with brackets that allowed them to turn in the wind. The handmade warning transforms the entire wheat field into an unlikely shark zone.
