Prime Minister Boris Johnson stained with oil in London as part of a protest against the Cambo oilfield

Greenpeace activists placed a 12-foot statue of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson stained with oil in London as part of a protest against the Cambo oilfield, which lies northwest of the Shetland Islands off the shore of the UK. If approved, experts say that the Cambo field would deepen the climate crisis for decades to come.

Johnson had outlined a ‘Green Industrial Revolution’ plan last year which promised to eradicate the UK’s “contribution to climate change by 2050.”Instead, he is preparing to sign off a drilling permit for one of the deepest fields to ever be discovered in Northern Europe, only 3 weeks ahead of the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow.
