Hopefully this mural will spark conversation that will lead to normalising breastfeeding and improve breastfeeding rates in the area

Smug: Recently named the most deprived area in Scotland, Greenock has an average of only 19% of mothers that continue breastfeeding after 6 weeks, however specific areas in Greenock are drastically lower than that, even down to 1%, giving the town the 2nd worst rate in the world. Hopefully this mural will spark conversation that will lead to normalising breastfeeding and improve breastfeeding rates in the area. This was a collaborative project between Inverclyde Health and Social Care Partnerships Infant Feeding Team with support from Oak Tree Housing Association. Big thanks to Catriona for being the brains and brawn behind this Clota-esque mural and Angela for being such a great model. 4 named storms blew through in the 10 days I was on this. Soaked to the bone and freezing. Every. Single. Day. What a way to pop my 2022 cherry.
