Muralist and graffiti artist Smug

“Lú God of Light” by Smug in Dundalk, Ireland for Seek Dundalk.

Seek Dundalk: And it’s a wrap on this legendary piece by Smug and we are all prouder still to now have Irelands tallest mural, reaching a whopping 135ft from top to bottom. Situated on Crowne Plaza Dundalk just off the M1 at junction 16. It depicts Lú, the God of Light, War and Master of the Arts. The deity is one of the most prominent in Irish Mythology. Louth like many other places in Europe derive their name from this God. Cú Chulainn also known as Setanta; the Celtic mortal hero is said to be the son of Lú and his mortal reincarnation, he is a son of Dundalk, as is the town motto “Mé do rug Cú Chulainn Cróga”, which translates to “I gave birth to Brave Cú Chulainn”.
